Lines Are Drawn
Originally created in 1991 and then revised and enlarged in 1996, Lines Are Drawn has been heralded as one of Jonathan Hollander's most compelling and evocative works. Set to the score of Bohuslav Martinu's Double Concerto for Two String Orchestras, Piano and Timpani (1938), it is performed by an ensemble of seven dancers.
The lighting design is by Pat Dignan and the costumes by Noelle Braynard
"As strongly evocative as an Edward Hopper painting."
"A series of magic impressions, poetic and buffoon-like spectacles, based on the life of citizens of a certain city. It is a tale of common happenings dedicated as much to the personalities created on the stage by the dancers, as to the human body, conjured and bewitched by the emotions of the music."
